Snouted Cobra (Naja annulifera) | Neurotoxic Venom
The Snouted Cobra (previously know as the Egyptian Cobra) is one of Africa's largest cobras and often occupies a permanent home in a termite mound. The main characteristic of an Snouted Cobra is the head and the hood. The head is large and depressed with a broad snout. The cobra's eyes are large with a round pupil. Adults avearge 1,2 - 1,8m but may reach or exceed 2,5m. They prefer arid as well as moist savanna and are common in lowveld and bushveld areas.
